Mindful manifesto is the catalyst to a tranquil self

The situation of labour in India remains abysmal and the role of the state remains an important factor. Since its inception the post-colonial state has been ambivalent towards its responsibilities towards labour. During colonial rule one finds evidence of a more interventionist state. After Independence, while India had passed a robust set of labour laws (1947), there was little effort to ensure that these were comprehensive and as such these laws did not address large areas of workers’ lives.
