JNVST Class 6 Selection Test Dates Revised; Here’s New Schedule

The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2021 for admission to Class 6 has been rescheduled due to ‘administrative reasons’. The JNVST entrance test was earlier to be conducted on April 10, however, it will now be conducted on May 16 and June 19.

JNVST 2021 will be conducted on May 16 across the country except for Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Nagaland. In these areas, the test will be held on June 19, as per the latest notice. JNV entrance test 2021 will be held in pen and paper mode in a single shift from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

The exam will have three sections – mental ability, arithmetic, and language. A total of 80 objective-type questions will be asked in the exam for 100 marks. Of the total, 40 are from mental ability while the rest sections will have 20 questions each.

JNVST 2021 admit card for the Class 6 entrance test is expected to be released in March. The result will be declared in June, the official dates, however, have not been announced yet. After the result declaration, students have to undergo document verification process as well.

This is the second phase of the entrance exam. In the first phase of JNVST, over 30 lakh students had registered. The JNVST was conducted for admission in 48,000 seats. There are around 626 JNV schools functioning all over the country.

JNVs or Navodaya Vidyalayas are residential schools supported by the Ministry of Education. The school supports rural students and those from economically and socially backward areas. Recently, the ministry had announced to reopen JNVs for class 10 and 12 students. The schools were asked to start bridge courses and special classes to fill in the learning gap of students. Schools across the country have remained shut due to the pandemic since mid-March and classes are being held digitally.
