CBSE Board Exams 2021: Due to the rising number of cases of Corona infection in various region of the country, there has been a demand for postponing or conducting online board exams for classes X and XII for the past few days.

Candidates, parents, and teachers have been pleading with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal, and the CBSE not to hold the exams on a set schedule via social media.

As a result, the Government of India’s Ministry of Education and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) are considering postponing these exams. The board exams for the 10th and 12th grades were set to begin on May 4 according to a CBSE datesheet published earlier. However, CBSE can soon announce new dates.

In light of the current situation with the coronavirus, nearly one lakh students in grades 10th and 12th signed a petition requesting that the government cancel the board exams or administer them online.

In addition, examiners, parents, and teachers from around the country used the hashtag ‘Cancel Board Exams 2021’ to spread the word.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi wrote to Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal to request that the CBSE board examinations be cancelled.

Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights has also written to the Chairman of CBSE to postpone the class 10th & 12th Board examinations.

Further, Actor Sonu Sood, the Maharashtra State Board, and Shiv Sena officer Arvind Sawant have also asked the CBSE to postpone the exams.

Exams are not going to be cancelled

There are no plans to cancel or administer the exams online, according to a senior official of the Education ministry. The ministry and officials from the CBSE are currently debating the new exam date. However, no final decision has been made yet.

Students and parents are advised to keep an eye on the official website of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for regular updates.
