SURAT: Police have registered a case in opposition to two officers of a media firm for allegedly forging paperwork to indicate greater circulation of two newspapers right here in Gujarat to cheat authorities and personal businesses for commercial income, a police official stated on Sunday.

The FIR was registered right here on Saturday in opposition to PVS Sarma and Sitaram Adukiya, each administrators of the agency publishing a Gujarati and an English each day, after a grievance was lodged by an officer of the Earnings Tax Division, an official from Umra police station stated.

Sarma, who can also be an area BJP functionary, and Adukiya allegedly conspired to make false entries within the firm ledger books to create bogus paperwork as a way to present greater circulation of their newspapers to the Directorate of Commercial and Visible Publicity (DAVP), a authorities company, and personal advertisers, as per the FIR.
