IMPHAL: BJP candidates received two seats whereas an Unbiased candidate bagged one within the by-election to 4 Manipur Meeting constituencies, the outcomes of which have been introduced on Tuesday, officers mentioned.

BJP candidates Oinam Lukhoi Singh and Paonam Brojen Singh received the Wangoi seat and Wangjing Tentha seats respectively, they mentioned.

Oinam Lukho Singh defeated his nearest rival Khuraijam Loken Singh of the Nationwide Folks’s Occasion by 257 votes whereas Paonam Brojen Singh trounced his nearest Congress rival Moirangthem Hemanta Singh by 1,560 votes.

Unbiased candidate Y Antas Khan, received the Lilong seat by defeating his nearest Unbiased rival Mohd Abdul Nasir by 3,078 votes.

BJP candidate Ngamthang Haokip was forward of his Congress rival Lamtinthang Haokip by 7,661 votes within the Saitu seat.

The by-polls held on November 7 have been necessitated after Congress MLAs of those 4 seats resigned from the meeting and joined the ruling BJP.

The BJP contested in three seats and supported an Unbiased candidate in Lilong, whereas the Congress fielded its nominees in all of the 4 constituencies.

In Singhat meeting constituency, BJP candidate Ginsuanhau was declared elected unopposed and he has already been sworn in as MLA lately.
