PANAJI: Residents medical doctors of two COVID-19 services in Goa on Saturday threatened to go on strike if an order asking them to share rooms was not withdrawn.

GARD president Dr Pratik Sawant wrote to Goa medical School and Medical Hospital dean saying resident medical doctors would cease offering companies if single occupancy rooms weren’t given in South Goa District Hospital (SDGH) and ESI, the 2 premier COVID-19 remedy centres within the state.

The administration desires to shift the lodging of medical doctors to twin-sharing rooms in Margao Residency, which is being utilized by the state authorities amid the outbreak, and the identical association is being made in Colva Residency in south Goa as effectively, Sawant claimed.
